Welcome to Cassio Surgery
'Working with courage for the NHS'
The doctors and staff at Cassio Surgery in Watford are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.
We would like to acknowledge and thank our patients in for their patience and understanding during a significant period of change over the last 6 months due to the retirement of Dr Gujral and Dr Watson and the subsequent unforeseen change in circumstances.
From 1 October 2017, patients will now be able to book with any GP at the practice, subject to availability.
The main GPs, Dr Reubin, Dr Visavadia and Dr Virdee have been here at the surgery for many years as have many of the other doctors assisting them and all have access to your history, medical records and medication.
In addition we would like to give a warm welcome to Jaffer Rashid, our new in house Prescribing Pharmacist, who will be able to see patients for minor illnesses, long term conditions, medication reviews as well as be available to deal with any complex medication related queries.
A minor illness nurse, who is qualified to see, examine and treat patients (other than babies and pregnant women) will also be available 2-3 days a week.
Please continue to make your requests for medication in the usual way, allowing 2 full working days for your prescription to be ready, rather than in the appointment so we can concentrate on your health concerns.
A SIMPLE GUIDE TO MAKING AN APPOINTMENT
How do I book an urgent appointment for today?
Please call us at 8am so that we can book you in with a Doctor, our Prescribing pharmacist or Prescribing nurse all of whom can examine, diagnose and treat you for common conditions.
If you request an urgent/emergency appointment on the day, we cannot always guarantee the availability of your preferred clinician, due to demand.
If of course your issues are more complex and a doctor needs to get involved, the Pharmacist or Nurse will speak to the GP there and then.
If your health problem is a minor ailment or medication related problem, please consider seeing a local pharmacist or calling 111, as they are can often provide you with advice and suitable medication, if appropriate. This will allow for urgent appointments to be used appropriately. You can always call us back if they haven't been able to help.
Can I pre-book an appointment?
We offer 10 minute prebookable appointments with all doctors at the surgery from 2- 4 weeks in advance. If you feel your problem can wait and prefer to see a particular doctor, please do make use of this service. For complex or multiple problems please request a double appointment.
Need a late or weekend appointment?
Please ask for a WEA appointment, in which you will be seen by one of our partner surgeries in Watford. The GP will have access to your notes, with your consent and be able to see you in the same way we would here at Cassio.
